Safe Plug™ Technology

MicroFridge® engineered Safe Plug™ technology, a patented internal current-limiting circuitry that sets our combination appliances apart from any other product. Our products are specifically manufactured to reduce potential fire hazards that are caused by overloaded electrical circuits. MicroFridge® appliances with Safe Plug™, operate with only one plug and never draw more than 10 - 12 amps. This safety feature has an added benefit…it helps to conserve energy, which means that it will save you money when compared to other combination appliances.

A MicroFridge is more than just a microwave mounted on top of a refrigerator. In a MicroFridge® combination appliance, the refrigerator/freezer plugs into the back of the microwave, so only one plug connects to the wall outlet. When the microwave is used, power to the refrigerator and freezer is temporarily suspended. When the microwave is finished, power to the freezer and refrigerator resumes. This design conserves electricity and frees up wall outlets. Most importantly, it allows our combination units to be used safely, without special wiring, even in older buildings.
